General Manager
Pablo has over two decades of medical device development and leadership experience. Currently, he is the General Manager of Laza Medical, a Shifamed portfolio company focused on developing robotic innovation powered by Al solutions for the cardiovascular space. Previously, Pablo served as the Vice President of Digital Solutions for Johnson & Johnson (J&J). In this role, he led the strategy and development of the company’s digital product ecosystem, focused on surgical tools and robotics. Pablo was the technology founder for Verb Surgical, Inc, leading the product concept and technology that resulted in a strategic venture between J&J and Google which was acquired by J&J in 2020. He served as the Vice President of Research and Technology, helping to productize the technology together with a team of several hundred engineers while developing the company’s strategic product roadmap and IP portfolio. Earlier in his career, Pablo held roles of increasing responsibility with SRI International where he spearheaded medical and robotics research, through numerous cutting-edge development projects for government and commercial clients. During his tenure, he also co-founded MISTRAL, a collaboration between SRI and Stanford Hospital to develop novel medical devices for children. Pablo has his B.S./M.S. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Spain and a M.S.M.E. from Stanford University focused on Mechatronics. He also has nanodegrees in Artificial Intelligence, focused specifically on Deep and Reinforcement Learning.

Joel is a seasoned commercial leader in the medical technology sector, known for driving market adoption and revenue growth at the intersection of imaging, cardiology, and intelligent device innovation. As Director of Commercial Marketing at Philips, he launched and scaled the company’s first intracardiac echo (ICE) platform and built strategic partnerships across electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, and imaging specialties. His prior roles at InforMax/Invitrogen and Abbott shaped his expertise in sales, marketing, and commercialization strategy across both software and medical devices. With a strong track record of KOL engagement, clinical training development, and organizational design, Joel combines technical fluency with a customer-centric mindset. He holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Tyler Ralston brings over 25 years of leadership in advanced medical imaging technologies and AI vision systems. He currently leads ultrasound engineering at Laza Medical, where he drives the development of 4D imaging for a next-generation, AI-guided, robotically-assisted cardiovascular imaging platform. Previously, holding roles such as CTO and Co-founder, Dr. Ralston advanced state-of-the-art biotechnologies at Oxford Nanoimaging and Tesseract Health across hardware, AI, and cloud infrastructure. At Butterfly Network (NYSE: BFLY), he drove the creation of the world’s first FDA-cleared, portable, whole-body 2D/3D ultrasound-on-chip probe. At Hyperfine (NASDAQ: HYPR), he spearheaded the development of the first FDA-cleared portable low-field 2D/3D MRI. Prior, Dr. Ralston led high-impact imaging initiatives at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Dr. Ralston is an inventor on 100+ patents and raised $1B+ across his ventures. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Joan Savall is an experienced hands-on leader with deep expertise in robotics, surgical systems, and medical device innovation. He has built and led top-tier robotics teams at multiple startups, including Atomic Machines and Verb Surgical, where he played a key role in developing next-generation surgical robotics platforms. He has also held leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson MedTech and contributed to advanced research at SRI International, Stanford University, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, with work spanning neural imaging and haptic interface design. Dr. Savall holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on haptics. He is the author of over 30 publications in high-impact scientific journals, with more than 3,000 citations, and holds over 40 patents. Known for his multidisciplinary leadership and user-centered design, he brings a proven record of innovation and system-level engineering excellence.

David has over thirty years of experience in medical imaging research and development with expertise in AI/ML/DL, medical image analysis, visualization, and informatics. He earned his doctorate in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University, pioneering clinical applications such as computer aided detection in CT colonography and CT lung imaging. He was formerly a professor in the Department of Radiology at Stanford University. Subsequently, he led the creation of foundational technology for Elucid Bioimaging and for Sirona Medical. He has over 150 refereed journal papers and abstracts and 31 patents granted with a top 1% lifetime impact score (h-index=44).

Marc Bitoun brings over 20 years of experience across all levels of medical device development, from hands-on assembly to engineering leadership and executive roles. He has contributed to the development of advanced catheter and ultrasound technologies, RF energy devices, and steerable systems. Marc has played key leadership roles at start-up companies like NuVera Medical (acquired by Biosense Webster) and Kalila Medical (acquired by Abbott/Terumo). Marc excels in product development, design control, manufacturing transfer, and regulatory support, with a deep understanding of both early-stage innovation and commercialization. He has built teams, scaled R&D and operations departments, and managed complex cross-functional programs. His diverse background uniquely positions him to bridge technical development with strategic leadership, helping bring new technologies to market.

Abhi has over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry. She has served in both technical and leadership capacities in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance at Verb Surgical ((joint venture between Johnson & Johnson and Google), Cardinal Health, Ethicon and Stryker. Prior to joining Laza Medical, Abhi was the Founder & Principal Consultant at Horizon Consulting, providing consulting services to several start-up companies and global establishments in the medical robotics and AI/ ML software space. She is passionate about helping introduce new medical technologies to the market so that doctors and patients have access to better healthcare. Abhi holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the Ohio State University, and regulatory affairs certifications in US and EU regulations from the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.

Mary Lynn has over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry, with a background spanning clinical practice, global leadership, and innovation. She began her career as a cardiology nurse and was the first employee at Centro Cuore Columbus in Milan, Italy. She has held senior Clinical and Scientific Affairs roles at Baxter, Volcano/Philips, Verb Surgical (Google & Johnson & Johnson), and Johnson & Johnson MedTech. Mary Lynn has helped provide clinical strategies for complex technologies at both large organizations and startups like Volcano, VenPro, 3F, and Verb. Beyond strategy, she’s led company culture efforts, internship and mentorship programs, and women’s networks. She has worked closely with global thought leaders and scientific advisory boards to bring transformative medical technologies to market—driven by a deep commitment to innovation and patient care.

Dr. Farid Gholitabar is a practicing non-invasive cardiologist with extensive expertise in artificial intelligence and data science. As Medical Director, he leads AI-driven innovations to enhance cardiovascular care and clinical outcomes. He earned his Master of Information and Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Gholitabar completed his Internal Medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, followed by a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Gholitabar focuses on driving innovation, strategic growth, and operational excellence within cardiovascular services. His leadership uniquely bridges advanced data science methodologies with clinical cardiology, transforming healthcare delivery through technology-driven insights.

Her prior roles include positions at Johnson & Johnson and Verb Surgical, where she focused on surgical procedure development, human-machine interfaces, and AI-driven performance assessment. She began her career working within a healthcare system, developing imaging tools and software for surgical planning. Lela holds BS and MS degrees in bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
